The stadium:
El estadio:The opening band, Muse, who gave a very enjoyable performance while people where still getting to their seats (they were good enough to give a concert of their own, although they did not play for very long):
As you can see from the pictures, we were lucky enough to get GA (General Admission) tickets and we were standing on the field, right in front of the band. Being this close to Bono and company was an amazing experience.

The main circular platform where they played had an external ring, and at some points during the show they crossed to it using a mechanical moving bridge. When this happened, just a few meters separated us.

The lighting effects were simply spectacular, and from a technological point of view the show was definitely state-of-the-art. The huge 360 degrees giant screen, which was the jewel of the crown, was used to display an incredible array of visual tricks, always in a very cool and creative manner.
The full list of songs that were played that night can be found at the official U2 website. Some of the ones that I enjoyed the most included “I still haven’t found what I’m looking for”, “Mysterious ways”, “Where the streets have no name”, “Beautiful day” and “Elevation”.
I still haven’t found what I’m looking for”, “Mysterious ways”, “Where the streets have no name”, “Beautiful day” and “Elevation”.
During “City of blinding lights”, Bono invited a little boy to run with him around the stage and he dedicated the song to him. In my opinion, the whole thing was supposed to be a metaphor where Bono was trying to see himself as a little kid, before he got fame and glory, by looking at the boy ("what happened to the beauty inside of me?").
On the other hand, the song “Sunday Bloody Sunday” was dedicated to the people of Iran, and a guy from the audience who was wearing a turban and had a US flag wrapped around his neck was invited to sing with Bono, in a gesture intended to encourage tolerance and diversity (probably set up in advance, hard to believe that it was purely spontaneous).
In any case, in was particularly touching to hear live renditions of two all-time classics such as “One” and “With or without you”:
En cualquier caso, he de reconocer que fue una auténtica gozada escuchar las versiones en directo de “One” y “With or without you”:
Finally, as promised, we did “Go crazy tonight” (although in an exotic remix version, quite different from the one in the previous post).
