Random thoughts from an unconventional Spaniard in the States

.

¡Viva México!

Yes, that’s me at El Zocalo, the very heart of Mexico City. Archeological treasures, beautiful scenery, great weather, warm hospitality and delicious food. What else could I ask for? My short trip was a great success and my expectations were vastly exceeded. All the people that I encountered were genuinely friendly and respectful and it was a real pleasure to be able to communicate with them in Spanish in spite of being so far away from home. Furthermore, I was lucky enough to enjoy the company of Erika, a Spanish/Mexican friend, who guided me during the weekend and showed me aspects of Mexican life and culture that are usually missed by the average tourist (it is not everyday that one gets to party until 5 am in Mexico City :-). Here goes my gratitude to all of you who, one way or another, have helped to make it possible. All in all, an unforgettable experience.

I have created a public online photoalbum with some highlights from the trip. You can check it out here.
