As promised in my previous post, last Sunday I went to Philly with some friends and we participated in the Susan G. Komen race against breast cancer. It was a truly beautiful day, and the area around the Museum of Art was crowded with people looking forward to the challenge. The general atmosphere was great. To be honest, most of us took it really easy and ended up just “walking fast” – it took us around 1h to cover the 5km of the itinerary. But hey, we had a really good time and we contributed towards a great cause.
Como prometí en el último post, el domingo pasado fui a Filadelfia con unos amigos para correr en la carrera Susan G. Komen contra el cáncer de mama. Hizo un día muy bueno, la zona cercana al Museo de Arte estaba llena de gente y la verdad es que había muy buen ambiente. Al final, casi todo nuestro equipo decidió tomarselo con calma, y más que corriendo acabamos “andando rápido” – hasta el punto de que tardamos alrededor de una hora en recorrer los 5km del recorrido. Pero bueno, lo pasamos bien y fue todo por una buena causa, que al fin y al cabo es lo que importa.
Thanks a lot to those of you who contributed with some donation. In the end, our team – the Running Crabs – went over the $400 in received funds, which I’m sure will be helpful in fighting this horrible disease.
