Last Friday January 9, I happened to be in Aranjuez profiting from the last days of my winter vacation when I came accross the biggest snowfall that I have ever seen in my beloved little town. Together with a friend, I decided to go for a walk in the streets with my camera and take a few pictures. We then headed for the beautiful gardens, which looked truly amazing all dressed in white.
El pasado 9 de enero, me encontraba todavía apurando los últimos días de mis vacaciones de invierno en Aranjuez cuando calló la nevada más grande que he visto nunca en mi pequeño y querido pueblo. Sin miedo al frío, decidí salir a la calle acompañado de una amiga para sacar algunas fotos. Luego fuimos a los jardines, que parecían sacados de un cuento, con todo cubierto de blanco.
These are some of the photos that I took during that day. The first picture, above these lines, corresponds to Apollo´s Fountain in the Island Garden. The one below these lines shows another of the fountains in the same garden.
Aquí están algunas de las fotos que hice ese día. La primera, sobre estas líneas, es de la fuente de Apolo, en el Jardín de la Isla. La que aparece a continuación corresponde a otra de las fuentes del mismo jardín.
Of course, I had to capture an image of the "Boy with Thorn" sculpture, which is a personal favorite from my childhood and who, that day, must have felt colder than usual.
Por supuesto, no podía faltar una foto de “El niño de la espina”, que ese día debió pasar más frío que de costumbre.
Finally, a couple of pictures from the Chinese area, which is one of the most beautiful parts of the Prince´s Garden.
Por último, un par de fotos tomadas en la zona de los Chinescos, que es uno de los rincones más bonitos del Jardín del Príncipe.
