I watched this movie recently and I enjoyed it a lot. It tells a very interesting story and it tells it in a visually appealing, dynamic manner. The hardships that many living in India need to endure everyday are portrayed with a rather crude style, something you might call “no-nonsense” realism, and yet the plot is so creative and original that it manages to capture the viewer’s attention from the beginning to the end. I can see many sources of inspiration here such as Oliver Twist, The Sword in the Stone, Forrest Gump, Cain and Abel, etc… and still the final product feels like something completely new, something real fresh. A modern day fable about justice, destiny, love and the growing pains of that kind of kids who should have never been stolen of their childhoods. Highly recommended.
Hace unos días vi esta película y me gustó mucho. La historia que cuenta es interesante y el modo en que la cuenta resulta visualmente atractivo, muy dinámico y acertado. Las dificultades por las que pasa mucha de la gente que vive en la India se muestran con gran crudeza, haciendo gala de un realismo sin edulcorantes, y sin embargo el argumento es lo suficientemente imaginativo como para captar la atención del espectador de principio a fin. Me vienen a la mente muchas posibles fuentes de inspiración para la obra: novelas picarescas en la línea del Lazarillo de Tormes, historias como la de Oliver Twist, la leyenda del futuro rey Arturo arrancando la espada de la roca, otras películas como Forrest Gump, los hermanos Caín y Abel, etc… No obstante, el resultado final no parece una copia de nada, sino algo nuevo, algo fresco, algo que sienta bien. Una fábula moderna sobre la justicia, el destino, el amor y las infancias robadas de aquellos niños que aún hoy se ven obligados a crecer demasiado rápido. No os quedéis sin verla.
